Create your account

A few simple steps to get started

Let’s set you up for success on Pinterest. Here’s how to create a business account and start using our marketing tools.

Business account basics

Get down to business
First, make sure that you have a business account. It’s free to sign up, and you’ll get access to tools like Analytics and a special Business Profile. You’ll also get more control over things like branding and content attribution. You can sign up for a new account or upgrade your existing personal account to use business features.

Add your details
Once your account is ready to go, head to your settings to fill out your profile. You can add a profile photo, your location and other helpful information.

Stake a claim
Claim your website, Etsy page and other social accounts to improve your branding across Pinterest. Claiming ensures that your name and profile picture will appear on every Pin with your content, whether you created the Pin yourself or someone else created it from one of your sites. You’ll also see performance data for these Pins when you use Pinterest Analytics

More ways to succeed

Once you’ve conquered the basics, it’s time to add some bells and whistles. Spruce up your site with Pinterest widgets so that it's easier for people to engage with your Pinterest content. The Save button helps people save Pins directly from your website. The Follow button lets people follow you on Pinterest with one simple click. You can also embed Pins or boards within your personal site to showcase your favourite Pinterest content.

Get ready to advertise

If you plan to advertise on Pinterest, you’ll want to add the Pinterest Tag to your site. The Pinterest Tag helps you understand what people do on your website after they’ve seen your Pinterest ads. For example, you could look at page visits, sign-ups or checkouts. You can use these insights to optimise your campaigns and improve your targeting.
