Cannes Lions 2022 is the renaissance moment you’ve been waiting for. From June 20-23, Pinterest will be back on the beach with new product launches, creator workshops and a trend-inspired experience—if you’re daring enough.
Cannes Lions is back—and it’s IRL, for the first time in three years. To celebrate, Pinterest is transforming the Carlton Beach Club into an immersive experience where you’ll see and feel exactly why Pinterest is truly different. Yes, you read that right. No panels or fireside chats. Instead you’ll find an interactive, creative space designed to help you go from inspiration to realization—from idea to “I did.” Read on to learn more.
Go ahead and indulge your daring side. Stop by the Pinterest Predicts Parlour for that look you’ve been dreaming of—all inspired by our Pinterest Predicts trends for 2022. Think micro tattoos, bejewelled updos and galaxy-inspired manicures by renowned Pinterest creators.
Go from idea to “I did” at our creator-led workshops
Join Pinterest creators in our Idea Pins Studio for exclusive workshops like screen printing, mindful drawing and aura photography. Then, immerse yourself in Idea Pins and Idea ads to learn why creators love them—and why your brand team will love them, too.
Explore our gifting gallery for a different kind of souvenir
Gifting is one of the top reasons people shop on Pinterest. In fact, people are twice as likely to say they found a gift on Pinterest versus other platforms.1 Visit The Gifting Gallery to find the perfect present for the ones back home—inspired by the thoughtful shoppers on Pinterest.
New looks aren’t the only thing we’re debuting at Cannes. We’re also rolling out new ad products, making it even easier for brands and merchants to reach consumers through creativity. These tools are now available for all advertisers—whether you’re visiting us at Cannes or keeping up with all the latest news at home.
Idea ads: an inspiring new ad format
Now, advertisers have a new way to inspire on Pinterest through a brand new ad format: Idea ads. Idea ads are a creative multimedia, multi-page format that combine videos and images for immersive storytelling. Audiences can view your inspiring content, visit your site and follow step-by-step DIYs or demos all within the ad. Idea ads don’t just spark inspiration, they deliver results: In a recent study, people who saw Idea ads were 60% more likely to recall the brand that they saw.2
Partner with creators with the paid partnership tool
We’re also making it easier for brands and creators to connect on partnership opportunities. The paid partnership tool is a new way for creators to promote their brand partnerships. And it allows advertisers to tap into our inspiring creator community and truly connect with their audience.
With the paid partnership tool, brands can simply review the tag and approve the content to showcase their partnership. By partnering with the expert doers and makers, brands can benefit from creators telling their story through an authentic and credible voice. We’re also announcing today that brands can promote this creator content as an Idea ad with paid partnership across Pinterest. We found that brands who worked with creators saw 38% higher brand awareness and 37% higher Pin awareness.2 Brands like Gatorade and Scotch™ Brand in the US recently took advantage of this new tool, and saw a serious boost to their business. Outside the US, beauty brands Coty Canada and M.A.C. Cosmetics in Australia have also seen success using Idea Ads with paid partnerships with creators.
It all kicks off on June 20. RSVP now to join Pinterest in Cannes. Let’s hatch plans for a different kind of internet and ad industry—all with the sand between our toes.
If you can’t make it, don’t sweat it. Keep an eye on this space for updates on even more Cannes Lions news and product updates. You can even follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for news from the beach in real time.
We hope to see you there.
