1. Gather your visual assets
Pinterest is a visual place – that’s part of what makes it so special. To catch people’s attention, you’ll want to use high quality, compelling images and videos. Check out our product specs to make sure that you're using the right file types and sizes.
We love when people create things specifically for Pinterest, but you don’t always have to. You can repurpose assets that you already have and make them work for Pinterest, too.
2. Build your Pin
There are a couple different ways to make Pins. You can upload images or videos directly to Pinterest, then add a link and write a Pin description. You can also save images from other sites onto Pinterest. Once you’ve created a Pin, you can always go back and update the link, or tinker with your description.
After you make your first Pin, we’ll prompt you to create your first board. Boards organise your Pins so that they’re easy to find again later. They’re also featured on your profile so that people can browse your Pins and learn more about you.

You should create new Pins linking to your claimed accounts at least once a week. Consistent, ongoing activity is the best way to build a dedicated audience on Pinterest. Your Pins will reach more people over time, and you can keep seeing results for months to come.
When you create a new Pin, your followers will see it on their Following tab. Since that tab is chronological, it helps to space your content out over time, rather than adding tons of Pins at once. You can schedule Pins up to two weeks in advance, so it’s easy to stick to a publishing schedule.
