Pinterest two-stepped to Texas this past weekend for SXSW Interactive, one of the world's largest gatherings for digital marketers. For our biggest SXSW yet, we took over Austin’s famous Container Bar on Rainey Street. Folks visiting our outpost got up to speed on how Pinterest's core technology suggests ideas personalized by people's tastes and preferences. Hundreds of people checked out our interactive “Taste Tuner” installation that brought the Pinterest Taste Graph to life and showed how people use our platform to make decisions about what to do or buy.
In addition to the Taste Tuner, drinks and music, we hosted speakers and official SXSW panels. Topics included how people can move from discovering ideas to actually doing them and how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing marketing. Outside of our house, we also had SXSW sessions on how to reach digital natives through content marketing and how can marketers tap into people’s "flow state" to create meaningful experiences. Last but not least, we wrapped the weekend with a happy hour with our partners at PTTOW and WorldZ.
