Now that summer is in full swing, Pinners are looking for ways to make this the best summer ever. We analyzed recent search and save patterns to help you freshen up your Pinterest content and campaigns. From kid-friendly crafts to parent-friendly snacks, here’s what’s making waves with Pinners right now:

Outdoorsy accents move indoors

People looking to spruce up their space are taking cues from backyards and the great outdoors. Banana leaf patterns are showing up everywhere from wallpaper to pillows. This playful pattern keeps growing in popularity, with saves up nearly 100% since last year. Indoor rattan is also making its mark, with saves up over 2x since May of this year.

All fired up

It’s camping season—so naturally, campfire foods are on the rise. The most popular recipes on Pinterest cover a pretty broad range of menus: classics like foil-wrapped potatoes, plus newer takes like omelettes in a bag.

And don’t forget dessert! Pinners are all about their s’mores, whether they’re cooking on a fire or bringing s’mores indoors. This strawberry s’more idea has been saved more than 60,000 times this year! People are sneaking alcohol into s’mores too, with treats like these popular s’moretini shooters and Bailey’s-dipped marshmallows.

Gingham makes its mark

Gingham prints are big right now, with searches for gingham outfits up 100% since 2016. It’s not just for preppy looks, either: we’re seeing gingham on everything from trench coats to swimsuits to two-pieces.

Hygge gets even hotter

Hygge, a Danish concept centered on coziness, has had a strong influence on home decor this entire year. Now we’re seeing twists to make the style work for warmer months, too. Think copper string lights, cool colors and airier vibes. Hygge is currently up 16x on Pinterest compared to last year, so it’s a good time to work the trend into your products and content.
