And Pinners love their hands-on projects—in 2015, we spotted 3.78 billion DIY Pins worldwide. Here are some of the trends we’ve spotted across international borders (and boards!) in the past 30 days:

Home decor

Globally, the trend is all about giving things you already own a rustic makeover. Top Pins play on elements like wood, natural textures, and light and celebrate a farmhouse-inspired aesthetic.

U.S. Pinners are looking for ways to give everyday objects a touch of weathered charm, and businesses like The Home Depot are Pinning ideas like this wooden chest makeover.

In France, rustic home decor takes on a utilitarian twist: The French are repurposing everyday items into objets d’art and function, turning humble materials into organizers with oomph. Top-trending Pins include boxes-turned-storage-shelvesrustic branch shelving, and creative wood pallet creations

Pinners in the U.K. also love decor with a functional feel—especially for small-space organization. There, top Pins involve furniture hacks, small bedroom organization and crafty bedroom ideas. And across Germany, Pinners are decking their homes with delicate accents like these top-trending light bulb vases.


Around the world, simple at-home basics rule the boards: Homemade salad dressings and saucesgreek yogurt and iced coffees are currently in the top spot. is onto this tasty trend, helping Pinners make simple recipes like these soft pretzels.

Right now, people in France are welcoming spring with Pins for keeping herbs fresh and decorating Easter eggs with herbs, leaves and flowers. Meanwhile, Pinners in the U.K. are giving their sips a fresh spin with fruity detox waters and ice cubes, while Germans are topping their cupcakes with pretty frostings and “floral” arrangements.


Pinners everywhere are experimenting with simple changes to closet staples, turning jeans into skirts and giving t-shirts a lacy edge.
