Every day, millions of people use Pinterest to discover, save and do things that inspire them. Businesses like yours can help people bring ideas to life. In return, you can achieve your business goals, whether that’s engaging with your audience, reaching new customers or driving traffic back to your website.

In this series, we'll go over a few tips to make sure you get the most out of Pinterest. First, let's stick to the basics.

It starts with a Pin

People save things they like on the web to Pinterest using the Pin It button. The Pins they create are visual bookmarks that live on Pinterest and link back to the websites they came from.

People save Pins to boards
People can save that Pin to one of their own boards, which they organize by theme or topic.

Pins spread throughout Pinterest
You can follow people and brands to see what they’ve added to their boards. People discover Pins on their home feed and in category and search feeds. When they repin it, more people will get a chance to see it.

Clicks send traffic back to you
People can click through on any Pin to visit the website it came from when they’re ready to do more, like buy a product, sign up for a service or read more details. And so the cycle goes—people keep finding, saving and clicking through on Pins they love!
