Blue means you can buy
When you spot a Pin with a blue price, you’ll know it’s buyable. If you’re in the U.S., you’ll be able to discover more than 2 million Buyable Pins on your iPhone or iPad at the end of the month. If you’re on Android or using your desktop, you’ll see them in future releases.
At launch, we’re excited to help Pinners buy from retailers like Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Thousands of businesses will also get Buyable Pins through online commerce platform Shopify, including Madesmith and Poler Outdoor Stuff. We’ve also partnered with enterprise commerce platform Demandware to bring Pinners products from some of their favorite brands, like Michaels and Cole Haan.
A simple, secure checkout made just for mobile
More and more people on Pinterest are using it on their mobile devices. But it can be hard to make purchases on those devices. Buyable Pins work so seamlessly on mobile, they’ll help you close the sale right when someone has the impulse to buy.
We’re working with Apple Pay and experienced payment processors to make sure all credit card info is secure.
A new way to reach shoppers and make sales—for free!
Buyable Pins still let you control the shopping experience—Pinterest doesn’t take a cut from your sales and you still get to handle shipping and customer service the way you always have. That’s why we’re only working with merchants who care about providing Pinners with the best possible experience.
How to get Buyable Pins
Today, we’re working with a few major brands and two commerce platforms. If your business uses Shopify, log in to your account and simply add the Pinterest channel. You can enable Buyable Pins in just a few clicks!
If you use Demandware to power your store, you can get Buyable Pins in the coming weeks. Just contact your Demandware customer success manager to learn more.
After you get them, your available product Pins on Pinterest will also become buyable, opening up more opportunities for discovery and purchase.
For updates on future integration opportunities, sign up for our waitlist. We want to make sure we’re setting a high bar for Buyable Pins—we’ll let you know as soon as you can get them!
We’re excited about Buyable Pins and we hope you are, too. Businesses have always been essential to our mission of helping people do things in real life—after all, two-thirds of all content saved to Pinterest comes from businesses like yours.
Thanks for Pinning with us!
