People are saving 40% more mauve hair and beauty looks than they did in 2016. That means mauve is showing up everywhere from nail polish to eyeshadow. Searches for mauve nails are up nearly 170% since last year, as people seek more understated colors than we’ve seen in previous seasons.
That desire for understated colors means that neutrals and naturals are also on the rise. Saves for brown lipstick are up nearly 20% in the US since last year, and bronze makeup is up nearly 40%.
As Easter gets closer, people are looking to lock down their celebratory brunch menus. A lot of people are eyeing this classic crepe recipe, which has been saved more than 135 thousand times. We’re also seeing fun flavor twists that range from sweet to savory, like red velvet crepes and spinach artichoke and brie crepes.
People are turning to DIY home hacks to liven up their living spaces. The latest trends include some pretty cool twists, like using wallpaper to create faux-marble accents. Hygge (a Pinterest 100 trend) remains strong as people look for new ways to add a bit of coziness to their home. As the weather gets warmer, we’re seeing a big boost for bare shoulder looks like sleeve slits (up 225%) and off the shoulder tops (up 564%). Searches for sheer fabrics are also up as people look for ways to stay cool. This trend is affecting people’s looks from head to toe: backless shoes will be big this season, with searches up 289% since last year.
