Emma Sleep sees dream conversion results with Smartly and Pinterest Performance+

Emma Sleep leveraged AI, automation, and creative template tools to maximise ROAS.

Goal

Emma Sleep, an award-winning global leader in sleep products, was the first brand to test Pinterest’s AI and automation features via the advertising platform Smartly – the first partner to offer Pinterest Performance+ outside of Pinterest’s native tools. 

To assess the impact, the team ran Pinterest Performance+ campaigns alongside Business as Usual (BAU) campaigns. The high-intent Black Friday period was the perfect setting for this experiment aiming at maximising sales and return on ad spend (ROAS).

Strategy

Emma Sleep utilised Smartly’s advanced automation and creative tools to execute both their Pinterest Performance+ and BAU conversion and catalogue sales campaigns. By integrating pre-designed templates into their workflows, they maintained brand consistency across creatives for static and video ads.

The Pinterest Performance+ suite helped simplify campaign creation and maximise ad impressions. For audience targeting, Emma Sleep’s approach was intentionally broad allowing Pinterest’s algorithm to optimise towards the most valuable conversions leveraging platform intelligence. The team also used additional creative optimisations via Pinterest Performance+ Creative for the catalogue sales campaigns to ensure alignment with Pinterest’s platform-specific best practices.

The implementation of Pinterest Performance+ delivered dreamy results across Emma Sleep’s Pinterest campaigns in Germany. They achieved an impressive ROAS of 10.4x in November 2024, significantly exceeding their platform benchmark.1 The brand also achieved 25% more revenue with Pinterest Performance+ compared to the traditional campaign setup.1 These stellar results underscore the transformative potential of Pinterest Performance+ in helping to drive revenue and efficiency.
