New and improved

Innovation is the theme of food trends this month, with searches for pumped-up and easy-to-peel sumo orange fruit up 365% YoY, and yes-they-really-taste-like cotton candy grapes up 100% YoY. And after one look at these super-fluffy Japanese pancakes (+62% YoY), you’ll be obsessing about them too.

Style trends this month are all about accessories, with jelly nails – the see-through acrylic sets – back in the spotlight. Searches have surged up 7,400% YoY. Other hot items include dainty huggie earrings (+104% YoY) for hooping it up, and elegant pearl hair clips (+1,387% YoY) for a touch of class. Looking to make a statement? Painted jean jackets (+98% YoY) have got your back.

  • Australia: Settling in for a cosy winter, searches for bedside-table styling are up 157% YoY in Australia.

  • Canada: Ready to bring out the animal prints for spring, Canadians are driving searches for leopard skirt up an incredible 2,393% YoY.

  • France: Early May is wild garlic season in Europe. Searches for the spicy bulbs have shot up by 44% YoY in France.

  • Germany: Don’t be gruel! Germans are turning to their ovens for breakfast, with searches for baked oats heating up (+1,767% YoY).

  • UK: At first blush, it looks like dusty pink paint (+39% YOY) has grabbed hold of imaginations in the UK.
