Be our guest

Right this way, please! This month we’re seeing people prepare to welcome holiday guests by giving their entryways a step-up. They’re searching for small-change touches (bench entryway searches are up 117% year over year) as well as long-lasting updates (staircase makeover searches are up 63% YoY).

Keep it green

Just because the weather is cooling, doesn’t mean people’s green thumbs need to. Searches are growing for fall container gardens (+2144% YoY) and eucalyptus wreaths (+49% YoY).

Sugar, spice and everything nice

People are cooking up ideas for both traditional comfort foods (mini pumpkin pies, +1109% YoY) and healthy takes on fall favorites (cauliflower gnocchi, +6499% YoY).

Flu-be-gone!

This season people are steering clear of the flu. Searches for immune booster essential oils are up 79% YoY, and searches for celery juice benefits are up 1383% YoY.

It’s in the bag

Fall styles are back in the spotlight—and they’re keeping us warmer than ever. Trendy paper bag pants (+1672% YoY), belt bags (+260% YoY), sock boots (+77% YoY) and teddy bear jackets (+1036% YoY) are all seeing massive crowd appeal. We repeat, teddy bear jackets are trending.

Today’s highlights

High-contrast, ash blonde hair tones are spiking in searches—and salons. Icy blonde hair with dark roots (+216% YoY) and shadow root blonde (+46% YoY) treatments are both highlights this month. Also on the rise, elevated ponytails: Searches for scrunchie hairstyles have grown 601% YoY, and ponytail style searches have grown 110% YoY.

Use insights to inspire your next campaign

Work these trends into your next campaign to reach people while they’re making decisions. Some ideas to get you started:

  • Help people be the host with the most. Work a home refresh angle into your campaign and show people how to get their house ready for the holiday season: Think about furniture swaps, simple renos and accessory updates. Not in the home space? Consider quick, creative ways that your product can help ease the nerves of a harried host.

  • In the food space? Appeal to health-conscious diners by offering fresh takes on Thanksgiving favorites. For example, cauliflower mashed “potatoes,” a cheese-free broccoli casserole and other health-conscious recipes.

  • Fight the good fight. Show people how common household items (foods, herbs, etc.) can pull double-duty and give their immune system a boost.

  • Grab the interest of seasonal statement-makers by offering styling tips for fall clothing and hair trends.
