With the holidays right around the corner, Pinners are already scoping out everything they’ll need for entertaining guests this holiday season. About 70% of Pinners have said they’ll be planning some fun holiday hosting activities, including everything from special meals and drinks to home decorations. Only 50% of non-Pinterest users are making similar plans. And the inspiration people find on Pinterest leads to purchases: Pinners plan to spend 67% more on entertaining and decorating than others do.
Holiday party planning starts on Pinterest, which has helped make holiday decor and food and drink two of our largest categories. We’ve already seen a ton of growth in the category this year, and the holiday season is just ramping up! Here’s a few of the fun trends we’re seeing, which might inspire some fresh ideas for you to share with the holiday host on Pinterest.
- Create Pins related to these trends (check out our updated creative guide to make your Pins stand out this season)
- Try creating boards organized by topics that appeal to holiday hosts, like holiday decor or winter cocktails
- Use our suite of targeting tools to effectively scale your content across new and existing audiences who are on the prowl for holiday entertaining ideas
Remember, on average Pinners start planning ~4 weeks before the general population, so now is a great time to start promoting your ideas!
