On Pinterest, you get more than a passive follow. Here, you can build an active community that values and engages with your content. But how do you do it? Follow these tips to help grow your audience organically on Pinterest.

Create fresh content weekly

Fresh Pins keep your audience engaged and help you reach new people regularly. It’s best to add more content every week to sustain engagement with your current audiences and reach more people over time.

Rather than anchoring to a specific number of Pins per week, focus on the content itself. You’ll see the most success with inspiring, relevant content that shows people using your brand in realistic settings. Just stay clear of abstract images or lifestyle imagery that don’t show your brand. Another way to keep people engaged? Use different kinds of storytelling, using formats such as video, carousels and collages to mix things up. You can even repurpose existing assets to save time and scale faster. No matter what you create, make sure to follow our creative best practices.

Align to big marketing moments

People use Pinterest to plan for moments big and small—so you can get a lot of eyes on content that helps with shopping or planning. Think about the type of information someone needs for a specific moment, then put your spin on it. Check out our 2025 marketing moments guide for specific moment recommendations and ideas to try next.

Use trends to inform your content strategy

Pinterest trends last nearly twice as long as trends on other platforms, so they’re a great opportunity to build sustained engagement.1 We make it easy for you to spot relevant trends with bespoke insights, all based on real platform behavior. Explore interactive insights in our trends tool, which shows growing topics and interests for specific audiences. Prep your Pins for search

People use Pinterest as they would a search engine. They often search general ideas or phrases, then use our suggested results to narrow down to final plans or products. Follow our best practices for Pin setup to ensure your Pins show up in the right kinds of search results.

Generally, we recommend filling in all of the Pin fields, every time you create one. Some fields don’t display to Pinners, but power our recommendation engines behind the scenes. For example, you should always include a Pin title and description, using relevant keywords to help contextualize your content. You might also see the option to tag Pins with topics before publishing. Always add topics when it’s an option, as this helps your content show for more types of people.

These same general rules apply to your boards. Give every board a proper title and description, as people can also discover boards in their search results. Use clear, descriptive language so your content shows up for relevant audiences and contexts.

Encourage saves

Whenever someone saves your Pins, that’s a signal that they’re useful and inspiring. As a result, our systems might show those Pins to more people who are interested. Encourage your audience to save your Pins with clear language and specific CTAs. When more people save your Pins, you’ll get a halo of additional reach over time.

Show you’re invested

Make sure your audience feels appreciated. Keep an eye on your Pin comments, and respond to people who need help. And most importantly, be authentic. Building audience trust is an ongoing process, so make sure to signal your appreciation for followers and people who engage with your Pins.
